A Quieter Version of Last Night's Prayer
God has a sense of humor, and apparently He’s producing my Zoom sessions now.
Last night’s Advent prayer session gave me an unexpected little practice in humility.
I loved seeing your faces, our reflection time was beautiful, and I’m honored by those of you who shared your prayer intentions with us. But when we moved into lectio divina prayer part, the background music I played, though it sounded fine to me, was WAY too loud over the Zoom. I couldn’t see the chat while leading the prayer, and so I didn’t realize it until the end, when it was too late.
UGH.
The irony of needing to surrender a prayer session on surrender is not lost on me.
But here’s the good news. I re-recorded the prayer portion and have added it to the rest of the video from last night. What you’ll find here is the full experience as it was meant to be: (hopefully!) quiet, gentle, and prayerful. Here it is for paid subscribers:
Whether you were with me live or you’re joining in for the first time, I’m grateful you’re here. Let’s invite God to meet us again in that place of trust and surrender, technical hiccups and all.
With love and a freshly humbled heart,
