Do you ever feel afraid to hope? Maybe you have been disappointed or discouraged in the past, and so now, out of a need to protect yourself, you hold back from expecting good things…
God wants better than that for you.
Yes, other people might let us down, or things might not go our way in the world, but God never promised that worldly things would meet our needs. He calls on us to hope in HIM.
This week, we’re diving deep into hope with Scripture, journaling, reflection, and a personal challenge, and it all starts with a fun recipe for a refreshing treat! Let’s open our hearts to the hope that only God can provide—unshakable, enduring, and full of promise.
Want to grow in virtue and find more peace, balance, and joy in life?
Here’s the content for today and a sneak preview of the coming week…
🍬 [MONDAY 01.13] A New Week of Hope
Let’s start the week with the promise of hope in Christ. A fresh beginning offers us a chance to recommit to trust in God’s plan.
Pray: “Heavenly Father, I offer this new week to you. Fill my heart with hope, so I may face every moment with confidence in your love and care. Amen.”
Write: Write down one hope-filled intention for this week and keep it in a prayer journal, on a sticky note on the fridge, or in the notes app on your phone.
Make: A peppermint treat is a great reminder of fresh beginnings. Mix up this peppermint mocha syrup and add it to coffee or drizzle on ice cream for a sweet treat any time.
In a medium saucepan, combine 1 cup of sugar, 1/2 cup of unsweetened cocoa, dash of salt, and 2/3 cup of water. Stir well over medium heat until boiling. Boil 2 minutes, then remove from heat and add 1/2 teaspoon of pure peppermint extract and 1 teaspoon of vanilla. Store in a covered jar in the fridge.
“Behold, I am making all things new.” — Revelation 21:5
