Launching in 2026: New Content for Girlfriends Weekly
and please share your thoughts...
It’s time for something new!
As we come to the end of a year of weekly newsletters focused on virtues in 2025, I have found myself thinking: It might be time to mix things up.
But how? The classic overachiever in me wanted to take on all of the approximately 12 million half-baked ideas running through my head. But then a quieter voice, one that knows a thing or two about wisdom and pacing, whispered: Slow down. Pray first. Don’t just do more; do what actually serves.
Then right in the middle of that slowing down, a kind friend reached out with some encouragement and an idea I couldn’t shake:
“Something I think is really missing right now is a solid resource for small groups: a short reflection on the Sunday readings plus discussion questions. My small group in my parish has looked everywhere...”
And she’s right. Years ago, when I helped lead a women’s small group, I remember scouring the internet for something simple, beautiful, and actually usable. There is great stuff out there and all kinds of reflections on the Sunday Gospels, but I always wished for one concise, thoughtful sheet that offered both inspiration and real conversation-starters, nothing overwhelming, nothing fluffy.
And so a new Girlfriends idea was born:
Beginning in January, I’m considering offering a simple, two-page weekly resource:
A short, prayerful reflection on the upcoming Sunday Gospel
A set of discussion questions
Designed for personal prayer or small group use
Digital and easily printable
Published every Monday here on Substack
You could use it in your own quiet prayer time.
You could bring it to your women’s group.
You could share it in a group text with friends.
You could read it with your husband or with older kids at home.
But before I commit, I want to hear from you … because the whole point is to create something that truly helps you grow in faith.
I would love your feedback.
Is this a resource you would use?
What do you like at Girlfriends and what could you do without?
What would make your faith life just a little easier and more supported each week?
Your feedback would mean the world to me. You can leave a comment, send a message, or simply hit reply if you’re reading this by email.
Thank you for being part of the Girlfriends community. I’m so grateful for you.
With grace,

It’s a fantastic idea! I’m already mentally picturing the beautiful binder I’m going to purchase so I can print them out, collect them, and look back over the year. Might you include a stock note taking page for those of us who like to take notes during the homily? Maybe it would have a space for the date, presider’s name, and liturgical season to be filled in?
Great idea! I would love reading Gospel reflections. It would certainly help me understand it better and help remember it through the week. Thanks for always evolving and helping us.
