In recent weeks, I’ve been praying for a special intention, and God has been awfully quiet. I keep bringing my intention to him—over and over—and he keeps not answering. I don’t hear God tell me “no,” but I do feel called to wait.
I hate waiting. It’s the worst.
But I know my impatience reveals a place in my heart where God wants to work. When we feel a surge of restlessness—whether waiting in line, dealing with a difficult relationship, or waiting for an answer to a prayer—we’re called to something deeper than just “getting through it.”
This week, let’s look together at how God meets us in these moments, filling our impatience with his peace.
Want to grow in virtue and find more peace, balance, and joy in life?
Here’s the content for today and a sneak preview of the coming week…

Our culture glorifies productivity and instant results, making it feel unnatural to pause and trust that God is working behind the scenes. But this Scripture reminds us that waiting patiently is not a passive act—it’s an active surrender to God’s perfect timing and providence.
As you reflect on this verse, focus on the stillness it calls us to. Waiting is not simply an absence of action; it’s a choice to rest in God’s presence, trusting in his goodness. Memorizing this verse can serve as a gentle reminder to slow down and trust him in the moments when waiting feels unbearable.
