I’m so grateful that you’re here with me for these 21 days of growing closer to the heart of Jesus! If you are just joining us, you can jump right in or use these links to access the previous content:
This week, we’re focused on Divine Mercy and those simple words Jesus teaches us to pray: “Jesus, I trust in you!” Reading the Diary of St. Faustina has been a life-changing experience for me. In it, St. Faustina shares the intimate details of her conversations with Jesus who miraculously appeared to her in various ways throughout her lifetime, teaching her about Divine Mercy. One of the things he tells her is:
“My mercy is greater than your sins and those of the entire world.” (Diary, 1485)
Sometimes, the challenges of life get us down. Our own sins, and those of others, wound us and can cause us to despair. But no matter how great the sin, God’s mercy is greater. No matter how big a mess we find ourselves in, God’s mercy is always the answer. We need to remind ourselves of that simple fact more often.
So, here’s your third, simple assignment.
Download this free Divine Mercy wallpaper and put it on your phone. Or print it and tape it to a kitchen cabinet. Whatever works for you! Throughout the week, whenever you see it, pause and say this tiny, powerful prayer: “Jesus, I trust in you!” Let it be a continual reminder to entrust yourself to the Divine Mercy of Jesus.
