We’ve been talking about trust.

This week’s theme is surrender, and in this week’s podcast we reflected on passages from the Surrender Novena. Last week we focused on Divine Mercy and before that, the Sacred Heart of Jesus. All along, we have been looking at the ways Jesus invites us trust in him. Not just with little things, but with big things, with everything.

And that’s hard to do.

What if you struggle to trust in God? What if all this stuff sounds great, but when it comes down to it, you’re too scared to let God in? That’s where many of us find ourselves, but the good news is that Jesus can work with that. He knows all about human frailty. He knows we’re fickle and weak. He asks us to show up and keep trying.

One beautiful way to do that is to pray. If you struggle to trust, turn that struggle into a prayer asking Jesus to teach you to trust him. One of my favorite prayers for doing exactly that is the Litany of Trust from the Sisters of Life. Do you know this prayer?

So, here’s your simple assignment.

Take a few minutes to pray the Litany of Trust with me. Find a quiet spot, take a deep breath, close your eyes, and hit play.
